![]() Submitted by Shawn Sanders Ramsey-Davis We received word from Clifford Thompson that Jane Hammer, former Birdcage Theatre Director and LP School Counselor, passed away March 29, 2014 in Alameda, CA. She moved to Oroville in 1963 and was in education for 40 years. She participated in community theatre in Oroville for 25 years as director and producer at Birdcage Theatre. She directed Kim Dinucci-Bertoglio, Don R Green, Judith Davies and myself several times in classic plays like "The Importance of Being Ernest", "Harvey", "Arsenic & Old Lace", etc. After retiring, she moved to the Bay Area in 2000. She was survived by her three sons: Fred Carino, Jim Boozer, and Clif Thompson, many relatives and friends. She will be cremated and her remains will be scattered at sea on May 31, 2014. If anyone wants further information, call Clif Thompson at (510) 633-7680. Frank Castillo wrote this lovely tribute "Sorry to hear bout this, she was one tough babe... we got along well, did a few shows with her... learned much from her. She was part of the big three: Hammer, Luder and Bugado. Could not have made big steps with Birdcage without them. Once in life do you meet people like this, movers and shakers, take no lip." ![]() |
